The first GBG-trial cancelled in Finland   The first trial concerning Gbg2001 was supposed to take place on 8th of January at 9 a.m. Suspected is 22-year old man from Espoo. His charges have been about "violent rioting" - he is suspected of participating White overall -action during the siege at Hvitfeldska school on 14th June 2001.   This afternoon, 7th January, 22-year old's lawyer told that the tomorrow's trial has been cancelled. The prosecutor had finally received the copies of letters sent by Swedish ombudsman to some finnish activists in June 2003. In there letters ombudsman explains the background of his decision to charge chief police commissioner Håkan Jaldung. Ombudsman sees the siege of Hvitfeldska as an unlawful deprivation of liberty of 400 people and grave misuse of official powers. The Case Jaldung is still going on in Sweden.   It seems that the prosecutor will wait at least until Jaldung's trial (date unknown) and then consider again the charges of 22-year old.   Two Finns have received charges concerning confrontations between police and demonstrators in Gothenburg in summer 2001. Both charges are "violent rioting" during the non-violent white overall -action. In a similar case in Germany, a judge decided that white overall -action should not be considered as violent rioting, and the charges were dropped.   In autumn 2003 a Finn got 15 000 SEK compensations for unlawful deprivation of liberty. He was arrested during the siege of Hvitfeldska and was in custody for three weeks as suspected of leading a violent riot. He was later found innocent in any crime during Gbg2001-demonstrations.
